So then, we've released a new song and branched out in yet another direction. This was initially my own creation and I got Bill in to help complete it with ideas and the rap sections at the beginning of the choruses, very happy with the results. Now, a bit about the lyrics, they may sound like a load of bollocks (as any lyrics often do), but in fact I set out to write a song about a character from Stephen King's Dark Tower series. I always loved it when you caught a line in a Zep song that was about Middle-Earth or Sauron or something!
I'm pretty obsessed with it and am half way through the fourth book. To clarify, the character in question (and his antagonist) don't feature in the novels but in my head he could be slotted into the world(s) quite easily, fan fiction. He is a nameless New Romantic singer suffering from the garbled flashbacks of his time in our world whilst attempting to evade the gaze of The Cracked Black Pepper Man, a demon of questionable power, a master of the mind-game.
Unfortunately for the subject of this song, he never finds himself in the company of Roland Deschain.
